Okay here we go. I was being an idiot and changed the msconfig setting for startup processors and memory. i changed it to 1 processor and 256mb of ram for no good reason except to see what happens. So i restart and get the BSOD stated above. The computer was running absolutely fine and I know it is not a ram problem. I am verry computer literate and have been working on macines for a long time now. I went googling for possible answers and everything I saw was for XP. I have tried last known good config , all safe modes, system restore system repair. none of them sucessful. Is there a way you could tell me which files to copy from the windows 7 disk to the windows directory, or any other possible solutions??????? Well I set mine to 4 processors and max memory and got the same problem
Except I COULDN'T get into safe mode - safe mode also lead me to the BSOD
I fixed by using bcdedit by getting rid of the parameters for number of processors (numproc) and max memory (truncatememory)
In elevated command prompt:
bcdedit/deletevalue {default} numproc
bcdedit/deletevalue {default} truncatememory

Can you use Safe Mode to run MSCONFIG and set it back? (Repeatedly tap F8.)
Or use Safe Mode and run System Restore?

If Safe Mode will not work.
System Restore back to before you made those settings should work.
If you do not have a Windows 7 disk you can borrow a friends as they are not copy
protected. Your System maker will also sell the physical DVD cheap since you already
own Windows. Also you can make a repair disk on another computer.
Try Startup Repair - (If at ANY point you gain some but not full access to Windows come
back and try Startup Repair again.)

( I'm pretty new to computers) I think I have the same problem you have (had). I was messing around with the mcsconfig and I used 8 cpus not knowing I only needed 4 and to boot up windows 10 you only needed 1. So I reset my pc and it gave me the blue screen of death and Ive tried using the safe mode but that doesn't work either. Plus I don't have a physical copy of windows 10 to get all the boot files back on my laptop! It's a Msi Ge62vr and I really don't know what to do now! It won't boot up! If anyone can help please reply! Thanks!

Worked like a charm. I was in trouble with same exact thing as Blossomz, changed processors to 4 and memory to what i have, didnt think it could lead to system crash after restart. And unable to fix with system restore. Used windows install CD, before "Install" clicked "Repair windows" at bottom left and was able to choose the Command option to insert these lines above, then "exit" command and restart. Unplug CD and set boot back to HDD/SDD. Worked first time.
