i bought a new computer 3 weeks ago and yesterday installed a bluetooth mouse. today when i turned on my pc i got a message that my computer was unable to start. i went through startup repair and got a message that it couldn't repair my computer automatically. next i tried system restore but got a message that it did not complete successfully; an unspecified error occurred during system restore (0x800700b7). it said to try again or try advanced recovery method however when i opted to reboot i got a message that my system was restored to...

i thought it might be because of the new mouse which is a microsoft mini 5BA-00001. the mouse seems to work although every time i turn on my computer it appears that my computer has to discover the device each time. i don't know whatb the problem is but i was only able to return it for 15 days and it has been 3 weeks. i have had this computer crash twice and i am, frankly, very upset. i went through ____ with my compaq and finally had to buy a new one and i'm having problems all over again.

can you let me know what you think the problem might be. i'm a bit upset.

Exact same problem as described by Le0pard63.3 after upgrading my eeePC 1005HA to Win7.  My bluetooth mouse worked fine when it was using XP.  After several trials by downloading new driver, reinstalling, rebooting......etc., it did not work for hours.  I decided to not just do a reinstallation on top but to clean up the driver completely.  First, in device manager, I removed the MS bluetooth enumerator, then removed the BT-253 device and drivers(installed by the WIDCOMM driver downloaded from ASUS site), shut down the netbook, powered it back on, let it auto-detect and reinstall the MS bluetooth driver.  Once done, I reloaded the WIDCOMM driver.  After that, rebooted the netbook.  My bluetooth mouse remained off all time until all drivers had been cleaned and reinstalled from scratch.  Powered on the mouse, my netbook saw it trying to pair with it. I clicked ok to allow connection.  During the driver installation, I expanded to see the details in a different window.  Even though the first window had the Finish button popped up, I waited to make sure all the drivers were loaded in the details window.  I remembered it was still doing the driver update installation for Bluetooth Peripheral Device, the other window already gave me the Finish button.  Should I have not opened up the details window, I would have just clicked Finish.  During the installation, I kept moving my mouse in circle and clicking it once a while just to see when it started to work.  All of the sudden my mouse worked first time in Win7.  I rebooted, powered off/on the netbook several times to ensure the bluetooh was paired with the netbook.  Worked fine even since.
