Green check marks on desktop icons

Suddenly all my desktop icons have green check marks on them.  What does it mean?  How do I fix them?

Hi,

Do you use norton 360? Norton -> Settings -> Backup Settings -> Backup Status Overlays -> OFF -> Apply.  After you run your next backup (you can do it manually) the check marks will disappear.

    I uninstalled Microsoft one drive which solved my problem with the green arrows then they re-appeared, I just can't get rid of them.

    Yeah.. they go away, but they will come back again and I want to know Why they are there in the first place, and how to stop it permanently.
