I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. How do I change the font color that describes the desktop icons?

Hi

You cannot change the Desktop font color.

Because Desktop wallpaper images have varying colors, it is easy for the font colors to be unreadable if they are on top of the same color as a wallpaper image. For instance a black font on top of a dark part of the background image or a white font on a white part of a background image.

The Desktop icon fonts are dynamic and will show white on dark backgrounds and change to white with a black shadow effect on a light background.

    Its not helpful because the white font with black shadow is completely illegible. 

    There should be a way of overriding the automatic settings for 'advanced' users.

    I agree Microsoft is always trying to limit what we can do. This is such a simple thing too. 

    I am not sure about moving to Windows 10 now.

    Actually works...

    Only limitation is that the font colour can only be "Black" or "White" depending on the background colour. Thanks.

    We should be able to do what we want. 90% of us are IT engineers that know what we are doing. I would like to be able to change it to Green as a black background causes less strain on the eyes. As i am at my desk all day it would be good to be able to do this. 

    Is there no regedit option or a workaround we can use?
