I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. How do I change the font color that describes the desktop icons?

Hi

You cannot change the Desktop font color.

Because Desktop wallpaper images have varying colors, it is easy for the font colors to be unreadable if they are on top of the same color as a wallpaper image. For instance a black font on top of a dark part of the background image or a white font on a white part of a background image.

The Desktop icon fonts are dynamic and will show white on dark backgrounds and change to white with a black shadow effect on a light background.

    it's not enough to turn the text color to black , the best easy solution is restore the default;

    right click "my computer" -> "Advanced system setting" -> on advenced , on performance part click on "setting"

    and just choose " let's windows choose what's best for my computer" -> "ok"

    the text now will be clearly visibled.

    How do you get white font with black shadow? I'm running Windows 7 and my font is white regardless of the background.

    The above tip on "CONTROL PANEL/COLOR SCHEME" doesn't help me. The Shadow effect is still white letters on a white background and the shadow effect is thin and vague.  It appears as if someone had smudged  charcoal letters.

    Is there a way to view the Desktop without a Theme?

    Can someone find a way to access the Font Color in the Windows Color and Appearance box? 

    Being able to change the Desktop color is not helping with my visual problems.  White, shadowy fonts are not acceptable.
