Click Start

Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD

Click 'Run as Administrator'

At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow

This will check for any integrity violations

Restart your system

  1. Insert the Windows 7 DVD
  2. Restart your computer
  3. When asked if you want to boot from your DVD drive, do so.
  4. Choose your language, click Next.
  5. Click 'Repair your computer'
  6. Select operating system you want to repair.

Try going to this link hope it helps www.**winhelponline.com**/

    Start the Windows Installer service

    1. Click Start, type Services.msc and press {ENTER}
    2. Double-click Windows Installer
    3. Set the Startup type of Windows Installer to Manual
    4. Click Start to start the service. Note down the error message if any.
    5. Click OK.

    Windows Installer Registry Fix

If the above steps do not help or if the Windows Installer service is not listed in the Services applet, follow these steps:

    1. Download msiserver.zip and save it to Desktop.
    2. Unzip the file and extract msiserver.reg to the Desktop.
    3. Right-click msiserver.reg and choose Merge.
    4. Click Yes when asked for confirmation.
    5. Restart Windows.

I followed your instructions and it actually got past the starting windows install without the error message, which is good. But...... now it's giving me a message saying The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavaiiable. Click okay to try again, or an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "SinglImagWW.msi in th box below"..Now I;m lost again, please help. We are almost there....

I tried this and got the message "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service."

Now what? I'm experiencing some severe problems, i.e Can't access my hard drives, can't access Control Panel. Getting the message that Intellipoint software has probllems, but when download and try to install the 8.02 version, I get the message that a later version is already running and it won't install.

I had a remote repair service work on this for 3 hours and they finally gave up. I tried to boot from the Windows 7 CD, thinking that it had gotten corrupted, but no dice.
