Windows 7 Windows Media Player 12 won't update the library when I add an item to the library, additionally when I delete a file from it's containing folder the media player doesn't remove it from the library. Can you help please?

If all these steps suggested above doesnt work close WMP12 stop all running services and try to open : "C:\Users"Your Username" \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player" and delete all the contained files (maybe copy them to another folder for a backup).

Afterwards open WMP 12 press F3 and the library index works how it is supposed to!

    seraio: do you want these sounds removed from your WMP library? If so, you can just select them, right-click, choose Delete, Delete from library only, OK.

    hello my name is seraio I did that also but i am concered because all my computer sounds are now in library as an unknown album.  What do I do ???If these files should become corrupted ,this will result in computer malfuntion, did you know this? help me riofesterani

    Try this FixIt program by microsoft.  I had a very similar problem with my Player, and this took care of it.
