Hey guys,
I just wanted to express my gratitude for you guys having done the leg work regarding this annoying windows 7 error message. I did, in fact, have the same exact error message whenever I attempted to access System Protection to create a restore point.
System Restore encountered an error. Please try to run System Restore again. (0x81000203)
i read you guy's feedback and immediately I felt good about the turn off "turbo mode" in Tuneup Utilities suggestion that was made. I felt it was a huge coincidence that many users on this thread had ALSO been using tuneup utilities and had encountered
the same issue as me. So what did I do? i went home, switched tuneup from turbo to standard mode and TADA! Like magic... problem solved!
Guys out there having the same problem - please check your Tuneup software settings (you can be using Tuneup utilities, Advanced System Care or even System Mechanic and, if you have it set to turbo, that program may have disabled seldom used features including
restore.
You may not have to reformat and do a fresh install of your OS!!!
