I am receiving duplicate emails in my windows mail inbox. How can I stop this?

My Windows Mail emails arrive in twos.....each email is delivered two times. Any suggestions as to how to stop this?

Only speculations :

  1. You have 2 identical e-mail accounts. Open Windows Mail > Tools > Accounts. See 2 identical accounts ?
  2. Your anti-virus program has an e-mail scanning action which causes havoc. It is wise to disable that scanning option.

    It seems that if Windows (Live) Mail was left open across suspend or hibernate, and the suspend/hibernate lasted more than "refresh period", which is 30 minutes by default, then the program opens two connections to the POP server at once, and downloads the emails twice.
