How to play FLAC file with Windows Media Player 12

Is there any way to play Flac files with Windows Media Player 12?  A hefty percentage of my music library is FLAC.

Thank you for your inquiry.

The Flac extension is not a supported file type of Windows Media Player. You may however user your favorite search engine to search for a solution that may convert the file to a Windows Media Player supported file type.

    Gets the flac files listed in Windows Media Player Library.

    I downloaded a codec from http://www.xiph.org and it works in media player flawlessly (and losslessly).  Now I am looking for the tag add on so I can catalog my files as well.

    Why? is it not available, has MS buried it's head in the sand! There are also many other formats that are not supported, if you're selling MS PCs as entertainment devices then these formats must be supported otherwise just give up and quit providing useless software.

    Flawless!!! Win 7 x64 WMP 12...

    Follow the instructions exactly. Just cant rip your flac's off to audio cd is all. At least I can listen.
