Is there any way to play Flac files with Windows Media Player 12?  A hefty percentage of my music library is FLAC.

Thanks!

Lloyd

Hello L Goldfine,

Thank you for your inquiry.

The Flac extension is not a supported file type of Windows Media Player. You may however user your favorite search engine to search for a solution that may convert the file to a Windows Media Player supported file type.

For more information on Windows Media Player supported file types you may also view the following link:

Information about the Multimedia file types that Windows Media Player supports

I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you,

Mary

    leefrost, im sorry.

im new to the forums and did not know there was a seperate thread for vista.

i will take the blame for that.

    have a wonderful day

    No problem.

I am fairly new here myself and I am still coming to grips with this forum's peculiarities : )

I am sorry for wasting your time and I hope you have better luck in the Vista forum.

Glad you accomplished your goal. Razell tell leefrost to his face that you have been following his instructions and you told him head on that your OS is Windows Vista  with WMP11. So maybe he will own up to it.

Thanks Darney53. I completely appreciate your words, brother.

I dont want to start anything here. I will ride the beef.

If I had known there was a seperate thread for Vista I would have used that.

I did mention, though, at the outset, that I used the Vista OS.

Still, I appreciate all you guys have done, all the time you've taken to help me out.

I will stay with this forum to get all of the help I may need in the future.

    You guys rock!!

    Peace  ;)

Posts here can be several days (weeks sometimes) apart and in the meantime I have dealt with many differing W7 issues in this forum and three others and do so freely in my own time.

I have never used Vista and avoid it's OP issues.

Other posters who have a problem and joined the subject thread with an issue of their own (on whatever page) have basically created a new thread within a thread (referred to as "innocently hijacking").

Without re-reading the entire thread when a "post" is e-mailed to me, it is very easy to think the thread is still on-topic with the original thread OP.

Sometimes post confusion can take place here due to the unusual reply/answer forum set-up that I am only just getting used to and also when a thread not only changes OP, but the operating system changes as well!

I'm not going to apologize for not being  perfect in following the entire thread and especially when someone starts playing the man and not the ball.

Posters could help here by not jumping into threads with their own issues, especially when a different OS or program version (in this instance here) is involved. Starting your own a thread in the appropriate forum might be a good idea : )
