How to play FLAC file with Windows Media Player 12

Is there any way to play Flac files with Windows Media Player 12?  A hefty percentage of my music library is FLAC.

Thank you for your inquiry.

The Flac extension is not a supported file type of Windows Media Player. You may however user your favorite search engine to search for a solution that may convert the file to a Windows Media Player supported file type.

    I can now play FLAC and many more files types in Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 64-bit thanks to Shark007's FREE Codec solutions:

    "

    The following filetypes are enabled and SUPPORTED by the installation of the Windows 7 Codecs.

    amr | mpc | ofr | divx | mka | ape | flac | evo | flv | m4b | mkv | ogg | ogv | ogm | rmvb | xvid

    All of the above filetypes can be queued to the Windows Media Player Playlist using a right-click.

    How can you limit a player like that??  You should design a player that supports all codecs!!

    As long as the codec file is installed the play can support a certain codec!

    Microsoft won't answer with anything that is not a Microsoft product.  There are lots of answers to get WMP to play flac...the one I use is madFlac..works fine.  After downloading for free, extract all files and install.  Works just fine.
