As the title says, I want to have my speakers and my HDMI to play at the same time from the same application, I've only been able to select one OR the other as default device: If I: Select speker as default device Start playing something (and can of course hear it from the speakers) Select HDMI as default device Then: Speakers stop playing HDMI starts playing I just want both to be playing together. It took some time searching around but I finally managed to find an answer by myself, I'm posting the solution here in case anyone has a similar issue: Open Sound panel Select Speakers as the default playback device Go to the "Recording" tab Right click and enable "Show Disabled Devices" A recording device called "Wave Out Mix", "Mono Mix" or "Stereo Mix" (this was my case) should appear Right click on the new device and click "Enable" Right click on the new device and click "Set as Default Device" Double click on the new device to open the Properties window Go to the "Listen" tab Click on the "Listen to this device" checkbox Select your HDMI device from the "Playback through this device" list And you're done, the drawback is that you won't have a microphone selected as default recording device, but for what concerns me I couldn't care less.

Hi capitano666, Welcome to Microsoft Answers. As per the design you would not able to hear sound from both speakers and HDMI for a single application at one time. Generally, in a normal circumstance we can only use one device as the output device. Example, the speakers sound is muted when the earphone is plugged to the computer. This might be possible if you can have two different sound cards or you might have to use a splitter to get sound in both the speakers and HDMI. Hope this helps. Let us know the results. I have the same issue and this worked perfect for me!!! I am running windows 7. I also do not require the use of a mic. I now have HDMI audio/video going to my home theater TV and VGA video and analog audio going to my bedroom TV from the same PC. Solved windows 7 vista output multiple audio - windows 7 vista output to multiple sound devices - Allow stream output to more than one audio output device simultaneously - fix multiple audio source output - for all those googlers out there - vista

THis is really great. Have been trying to do this for a log time. Problem was that if I have HDMI on, then my Skype ringing was disabled on my PC. Now I can get both going!

Then:

HDMI starts playing

I just want both to be playing together.
