Hi,

I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if it helps.

To fix this problem, open Windows Explorer, right-click on the corresponding library (Pictures, in your case) and choose Delete. Click yes when asked for confirmation.

Note: Deleting a library does not delete the contents of the included folders. However, you may need to re-add or include your folders manually, if needed.

Then, in the navigation pane of Windows Explorer, right-click Libraries and click Restore default libraries.

This recreates the library that was deleted earlier. This option only restores the default libraries.

Please respond back and let us know the status of the issue.

I have the easy solution. In Windows 8, press the Windows 8 button then click on file explorer. It is located on the bottom left screen of the desktop. Then right-click Libraries and select "Restore default libraries" and that should solve your problems. Good luck and have fun with Microsoft's new version of Windows.

    Note:

This should also fix the "Something went wrong" popup in the camera and video section of Windows 8.

I am running windows 8 on a HP computer with AMD 10 processor and also windows 8 on a HP laptop. I upgraded my Norton to Norton 360 when my free trail ran out. I also bought Norton utilities. I did have some trouble with the Norton download (like others not that great in computer stuff). After the download finally worked pictures library stopped working and the Norton Utilities 16 program has not worked yet, it freezes up the machine and I have to reboot. I did what you said and pictures library works now. THANKS. Any idea of a fix for Norton Utilities 16? I tried reinstalling the 360 a couple of times it had no effect. I tried turning off features in 360 had no luck. the Norton utilities 16 will not even uninstall without freezing up and forcing me to reboot. I did download the Norton 360 and Norton utilities 16 on the laptop computer and they both work fine. Any idea or is Symantec my best bet for help? Again though thanks for the help with the picture library thing:)
