Can I delete the system reserved partition from 100MB

Is there a possibility to install windows 7 (clean install) without making a extra (hidden) partition "system reserved" from 100mb?

or how can I delete this partition after install ?

Why is it for?

I have the meaning that this slows down my hard drive a little ?

Hi Johan G,

Thanks for posting to Getting Ready for Windows 7 .

The 100MB partition is a system partition and contains boot files. Disk Manager will not allow you to remove this partition because removing this partition could cause the system to not boot.

    i am facing with that trouble the whole day today, why there is system reserve drive in windows 7, it isn't possible if there is no that drive, i want to ask windows7 company,, and how to delete it? even in partition i can delete it,, i think windows7 company is making modern technology for the world not making trouble for the world. i have many people from different country also facing trouble such as me...,, what is your suggestion windows 7 company??????????

    I have already removed this 100 mb syatem partition......so what I have to do now??? please reply fast.....

    den when I am trying to install Windows 7 and when I select my SSD disk it says "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information".

    First where do I find the setup log files??

    No need to delete the entire system reserved volume really - just inviting trouble if you try. In many cases, you will find a hidden system pagefile on the system reserved volume consuming much of the space on the volume. If you boot the computer using Linux (assuming you either have a dual boot system, or a bootable Linux CD or thumb drive)  - everything on the volume should be visible...  then just go and delete the pagefile on the system reserved volume.  You'll free up enough memory so that at least 50MB becomes available, and your backups will work. Best to leave the system volume in place - it has a purpose.
