Can I delete the system reserved partition from 100MB

iseeuu--My intent is not to argue but to get the job done.

I interpreted that to mean I should format the Z: drive to remove its contents, which content was created by your advice " Now copy all the files from the old "System Reserved" to the new "System Reserved" "    Is "Delete Volume" what you meant?  I can still do that.  At least I have that option in the Context menu for Z:.   You may see that I try to follow directions very carefully.  Removing contents versus deleting the volume are presumably quite different, but I had no idea that Delete Volume was called for or what the consequences of using it are.  If I "Delete Volume", where do I start in the original instructions which I understand you are recommending.

"did you tell Windows that YOU wanted it (Z:) to be a "Primary" volume (or partition)"  I had/have no idea how to create or "force" (as you suggested) the former Z: as Primary.  At what point is that option offered?  It is not there now in the context menu and do not remember it being offered offered in the process of creating a New Drive Letter....

FWIW--Z: and the System Reserved partitions are both 99MB now-- see earlier screen shots.

And I would appreciate advice on how to best copy the contents of the System Reserved partition to new Z: .  I seem to remember it was not very obvious the last time around.  At the moment the System Reserved partition does not show up in the Computer folder  (even though I have unchecked "Hide protected operating System files..." in Windows Explorer|Options|View tab)/  And, earlier I got quite a few error messages when I did try the copying (which apparently was successful based on Z: eventually containing Recycle.BIN, BootMgr, Boot, BootSec.bak, SystemVolumeInformation.)

If you will stick with me, I will try to get the job done.

What you tried would have worked. However I do not understand why you decided to only delete the "contents"? I do not recall having ever suggested that in any of the numerous posts in this thread. The 100MB "System Reserved" boot partition at the front of your hard drive (before your C partition) MUST be a "Primary" partition. The ONLY way to get there now is to DELETE the current partition and create a new "Primary" partition of 100MB in size. Please review the step by step instructions already posted.

I deleted the contents of Z: .  Z: became 100MB Free Space rather than Allocated Space with no drive letter.  I saw no option to increase it to 101MB.  But I went ahead anyway and Deleted D:.  It all became Allocated Space.  I went back to former Z:, went through the procedure to assign a Drive Letter, but saw no obvious option in any window to make it either a Primary or Logical partition.  There was one window that had a line called Volume Label.  "New Volume" was entered in that line and it offered no options, but I could erase what was entered and enter Primary.  When finished I had Z: back, labelled "Primary Z:" in the title(?) bar at it top, but its properties showed to again be a Logical partition and 99MB in size.  (Now I am unable to change that Primary title. Going into Change Drive Letter... only gives the options to change or remove the Drive Letter.  FWIW--I now know what "New Voume" meant in that Volume Label line.)

I saw no purpose in proceeding and restored former D: (now Unallocated Space) to D:.
