Why does Microsoft have to decide how I want my personal stuff organized?I want them organized the way I want!We wouldnt pay 300 for someone to take decision for us.I wonder if you are going to change the Pc acronym for Personal Computer to IBTMN-C aka I belong to Microsoft now computer.I want my folders arranged the way I like.I want to change the row the way i feel like to everyday.Just fix it.What made you remove this??Which advisor told you it is not needed?Who doesnt use this feature??Windows is based on manual arrange.Nice Idea WELL DONE

As this is by design of the Windows 7 Operating system, we cannot disable the Auto arrange.
The change in Windows 7 is by design however, if this is something you would like this feature reinstated, please submit your suggestion to:

I Had All Our Business Computers On Windows xp I didn't move to vista but purchased one windows 7 machine only to find myself screaming at the pile of Junk. This for us made the windows system completely useless. I have now the macbook pros and intend to move all office computers to mac also within the next 6 weeks. that's 11 units no longer windows sorry Microsoft you are losing sight of sense.
Unfortunatley, Phil, This would seem to be the wave of the future. Quite a few of us have contatced Microsoft on NUMEROUS occasions about his problem. We have submitted "change requests", signed petitions, and made requests here in their forum. Microsoft, however, believes that their technicians know MORE about what customers want than the actual customers themselves. They absolutely REFUSE to listen to the people using their product. Their arrogance is absolutely sickening!
I, too, have moved to the Mac patform for all my business. I still keep a windows machine for gaming, but everything IMPORTANT, is now done on Macs. I find the Mac has better graphics and FAR superior Video Editing tools, which I use on a daily basis.
I think (and hope) that the virtual monopoly that Microsoft has had over the past 15 years is FINALLY coming to an end. People are no longer willing to put up with their "take it or leave it" attitudes, nor the rotten Customer Service from people who can't even speak our language. We are all sick and tired of calling Microsoft with a problem, and having someone in India try to convince us that it's done on purpose, "for your own benefit", and refuse to help you. The public is learning VERY QUICKLY that Apple makes a superior product, offers FAR superior Support, and nowadays, most software is available for PC and Mac both so we're no longer stuck using Windows because we can't find the right programs for Mac.
The people at Apple are VERY happy with Microsoft's Customer Service practices. They are driving their own customers to Apple in droves!

good luck with that design change request. I too filed a request last year... I'm still waiting. When I filed I noticed that people have been requesting, actually begging Microsoft for a design change since 2009. Their only response was "it was by design"
