Dont Worry....... Just rightclick on taskbar---->properties----->select Notification Area Tab--------->In system Icon select "volume" ................I hope it will help u........

problem solved
Nope....there is no "Properties" to select after right clicking on the task bar. Just another mystery.
Amen Brother. this is a CRAZY issue! can't believe the time wasted trying to fix this.
how do I get my volume back at the right side of my screen?
