My volume control button has dissapeared from the bottom right hand corner of my screen - how can i get it back?

Dont Worry....... Just rightclick on taskbar---->properties----->select Notification Area Tab--------->In system Icon select "volume" ................I hope it will help u........

    Same here. After doing updates and after rebooting my volume icon, network icon and power level icon are gone from the task bar. When I go get them back they are greyed out. Then after several reboots I can finally get them back. Until the next Windows update.

    What gives??

    This is on a laptop with Vista Home Premium and all up to date updates.

    On mine there is no volume control given as a choice, either under present or previous icons. The sound works fine through a Samsung monitor.. I brought a sound lever shortcut just above the icon area. It works, but is not as convenient. This is on XP, not Vista.

     None of the listings are in the regestry where they are listed to be in help files

    I posted this back in February of 2015 (I think), and it seems to have worked for a great many people:

    1. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and open Task Manager
    2. Click on DETAILS tab
    3. Find explorer.exe, right-click, and click on END TASK
    4. On the top Menu Bar, click on FILE --> RUN NEW TASK
    5. Enter explorer.exe in the task entry box and click on OK
    6. On the top Menu Bar, click on VIEW and REFRESH NOW
    7. Volume icon should reappear after refresh
