Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Hi http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/profile/e0f76379-1bbc-4a22-a30b-40706e8358f1[Nithyananda J](http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/profile/e0f76379-1bbc-4a22-a30b-40706e8358f1 "Nithyananda J"), so You work for Microsoft, and don't know that the "Toredo tunneling Pseudo interface" is not a sound card nor any other piece of hardware, but rather a part of the IPv6 network interface in Windows used to tunnel IPv6 communications over an IPv4 connection????  And it is made and installed by Microsoft!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you make all of these people scan their PC's for device drivers, which can not work even if there was one, because when you try to install a corrupted or wrong driver, it will be the same one that caused the problem, so a new one has to be downloaded.

Typical Micro$oft:  It is never your fault, the user is always wrong, and Microsoft can do no wrong!!!!!!!!

Windows 10 is SPYWARE of the worst kind!!!!!!!  Thank god for LINUX!

I have recently after installing the March2015 MS-Updates, also picked up a Code10 on the “Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter”. This post is for information only and shows that the issues raised concerning the “Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter” are possibly not as strait forward as hinted at by some commentators on this and other Forums, KB-Articles, Help files etc. on the INet. I am not giving any instructions on how and were to make the changes I have used. Readers who do not know what I am referring to need to familiarise themselves with the workings of the Microsoft OS first.

Running on:

HP ProBook 4520s(WT281EA), x64-based PC, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 460 @ 2.53GHz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) with BIOS Ver. HP 68AZZ Ver. F.50, 2014-07-08, OS= Microsoft Windows 7 Professional ver. 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601.

2015-05-03

1. Set Service: Peer Networking Grouping = Automatic
2. Set Service: PNRP Machine Name Publication Service = Automatic

As both Services were not Started!

3. Modify IPv6 registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TCPIP6\Parameters>DisabledComponents = 0

3.1 Delete Hexadecimal

3.2 Change to Decimal

3.3 ê(Entered) 0

4. Shut down and Cold Boot (INet=Offline, Not connected to Domain)
5. Check:

5.1 DM(View-hidden): 3x instances of Microsoft ISATAP adapter

                                    MS Teredo Tunneling Adapter

                                    No 6to4 Adapter

                                    Other devices? = for Keyboard_Filter_01: No driver required. This device is

                                    working properly.

5.2 Run DM(Device Manager) "Scan for hardware changes = No Changes all appears = OK

5.3 Connect to INet using Vodacom(41.13.158.189), iPhone4(8GB)-USB(ENet)-ITeth., Edge connection=256kbit/s.

5.3.1 Launch: IE9>http://test-ipv6.com/ (Note that this site generates its own “Tabs” for navigation)

Summary:

Your IPv4 address on the public Internet appears to be 41.13.158.189 (ISP-Assigned=Public(not static))

I have seen the "Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter" and "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface" referred to in Forum posts without a clear indication if they are identical and interchangeable. I have picked up in a historic Belarc-Report that at some stage I had the latter installed and now I have the Microsoft one. Whether the two are interchangeable is not clear to me at this stage. Furthermore I now need to see how things will change when I connect the Laptop to a domain. The results I have observed so far are not very confidence inducing and appear unstable.

When I tried your first suggestion, to load a driver located already on my computer, I got a response of:

 Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software . . .

 Windowsl found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

 Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter

 This device cannot start. (Code 10)

2. I was not sure how to get the proper information about the motherboard manufacturer so as to go to their website so I had Windows search my computer and the internet for a new driver and got this back:

 The best driver for your device is already installed

3. I uninstalled the driver for the High Definition Audio Device  under “Sound, video and game controllers” in accordance with your last suggestion and when I rebooted got the following:

 High Definition Audio Device installed

I hope I did what you intended that I should do. The yellow triangle is still there and the device still cannot start.

Let me ask this: How important a problem is this and how should I expect it to impact the functioning of my computer?
