Is there a stop to Internet Backgammon cheaters?

So I have enjoyed playing Backgammon in the past, but nowadays is just IMPOSSIBLE.  I am sure many others have noticed this.  There are players out there that can control the dice at least for them, and some can even move more chips than the allowed by standard rules.

For example, not 10 minutes ago, I rolled 6 and 5, then the guy doubled me on his first roll, and got double three, then I rolled and I got 4 and 1, then he rolled and got 3 and 1, then I rolled and got 3 and 2, then he rolled and got double 5 eating my lonely chip in position 1 and covering position 3 from position 8.  Do you call that a lucky roll?  I call that an engineered roll, if you know Backgammon.

Yesterday, a guy moved 6 chips using a double 5.  That same guy rolled 4 consecutive pairs.

Yesterday, I had 5 out of 6 positions occupied in my side and I ate one of the other player's chips.  I did this repeatedly.  The guy just lost 1 roll out of 4 chips I ate.  He also had 5 of 6 positions occupied.  He ate a chip of mine twice.  I had to roll some 10 times before I could get out each time.

If you know Backgammon, you know this is NOT right.  Losers out there have found a way to cheat, and that ruins the fun for us, the ones with a brain.

Microsoft, please put an end to this.  Your Windows license is expensive, and I paid for it, and I expect to be able to enjoy all the features in the OS, and that includes the included Internet gaming.  Roll a patch that can end this blatant cheating!

So . . . have been playing awhile and I am not sure if there are cheaters or not . . . there is certainly disagreement about it on this thread. I don't know enough about how the game process actually works on this network to make a definitive answer. I am sure someone knows exactly how it works but it is obvious that some posters here think/say they do, but don't.

Certainly I have played games where I got one great roll after another and other games where the oppenent got every roll they needed. I have played enough backgammon with real games to think that the "streaks" on the Win7 version seem odd. Certainly the computer's rolls when it takes over a game and is behind are full of doubles . . . obviously not random.

I know that the human brain can see unfairness where there isn't any but I have seen streaks that seem improbable at the the least . . . like recently rolling 4-1 as my first roll for 6 straight games.

Still, I see the biggest problems as the quitters. Someone said that people quit because of the cheaters. I don't cheat and people quit on me all the time and almost all the time when they are behind. Yes players get disconnected or have to leave but most quitters are just poor losers. The best solution if possible would be for players to have handles and visible stats including games left . . .then players like myself could have a reasonable expectation of a good game instead of a waste of time . . . even if the computer could play a lick . . .

All these numbers you are coming up with mean nothing when the cheaters can control both yours and their die.

They decide what numbers you are going to get and decide theirs also.

The truth of the matter is these poor souls cant play BG with out their training wheels. They cant think fast enough to keep up with you. To them this is not BG it's a entirely different game.

The game is seeing others get out of the traps they set for you that could not otherwise be done if they didn't control the entire game.

A honest man on man game is boring to them. First they would lose because these people aren't the brightest bulbs in the box to begin with, and they have sociopolitical personalities.

They think we are stupid and don't know that they are cheating. This is how stupid they are.

There is nothing a cheater wants more than to win. So do this when you see they are cheating,..leave the game. Who cares about the stupid points you will lose by leaving. They are going to make sure they win anyway.

I play these people all the time and even with their cheat programs they run for the doubles "help, help"

    when you are clobbering them.

These people are pathetic pieces of human debris, and most likely cheat their way through life.

Yeah, I'm in a game with a cheater who was clearly behind, rolled several doubles in a row to win.  Now it's been my turn in the second game for about 20 minutes.  I've never been given a nudge, and I know he's still there, waiting for me to roll.  What's wrong with these people, and why can't Microsoft DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!  We can put men on the moon for chrissakes!

I have been playing Microsoft Internet Backgammon for many years and have enjoyed until the past few months.

The cheaters are out numbering the honest players that just want a good game of gammon. Last night I played 11 games and quit 7 of them because of cheaters. It hurts my over all score because I'm quitting but it hurts my over all score if I stay and play with a cheater that makes it impossible to win.

Currently I am holding a game with a player that is cheating. I know he/she is cheating because their first move was a 5-3 but yet they moved 4 times and one of them was moved into the finish bin which we all know is impossible to do unless all their pieces are in their home spot.

Please Microsoft. Do something about this. There has to be a way to either report these cheaters while playing with them and then banning them or some kind of patch to keep up with the cheating methods.

I went to the feedback location you listed above but couldn't find anywhere to post about this problem.
