Is there a stop to Internet Backgammon cheaters?

Players can get on hot streaks, but not like I see here. I play craps or some type of dice game almost every day.

I gamble craps at the casino in actual play or watching almost daily and I keep dice in my pocket and shoot them just for fun.

I often play backgammon against myself or my room mate or one of the kids daily.

Good post.  But  I am part of the disgruntled masses that cannot believe that many, way too many, players are using cheats.

I love the game and find the MSN game most pleasing of the sites I've visited. But my losing streak, at MSN is unbelievable. I'm not a sore loser.

I hate playing at beginner level because it isn't challenging. The computer is a waste of time. But I hate playing when I know I will lose. I never quit though.

Surprisingly, I took some advise a player posted. I have tried it several times. I have played at all 3 levels to test it as well. Most cheaters don't waste their time at the beginner level. Feeling I am playing real people, I have stopped moving and was timed out. But, when you think the person is cheating and you stop moving . . . . the game does not time you out. Just before coming here, I beat a player horribly in the 1st round and won 3 points. After, the player took forever on moves and they were surprisingly perfect no matter how I varied my playing technique. He or she always got the exact roll they needed for 4 games in a row. The last game, I played and after four double 4's in a row, he was down to 1 pip and I had 4. WOW. It was my roll and I doubled him. He accepted and began to switch his chat off and on. I always leave mine off. I haven't rolled in over an hour and have instead been doing homework. I haven't been timed out and he hasn't quit.

You see, someone told me the game won't time out if the person is using a cheat.

Great post. I tend to find cheaters quit if you win the first roll, make a pretty good first move, or are taking super longe times to move.

I tend to wait just once if a person is taking a very long time between rolls. I have no idea assuming they have cheats because the long pauses are almost always followed by "the perfect roll" for the situation. Why else wait so long . . . especially if it wasn't happening before.

It is even more frustrating to lose to a player making the idiotic and poorly chosen moves that can be clearly determined because they are cheating rather than taking risks or are bad players. I know people play sporatically, I do it when solid techniques are too predictable and I need an edge. But when the moves don't make sense, a good player can tell that it is cheating rather than entering chaos into a pattern or just a poor player.

I love the game, it sucks playing against people who are clearly cheating. I used to hate thinking they were cheating because I thought maybe I was just a sore loser. I know know there are just losers who have learned to win.

I have played people who refuse to move at the end of a game they are finally losing to me and then I can't nudge them. I played one player and just moved like an idiot with zero consistency. I had the chump in the end. He doubled me (he had dones so once before at the beginning of the  and I ended up getting doubles twice. this left him with 3 pips to one.
