hi, I just had the same problem, my computer either moved the volume automaticaly all the way up or down, but never let me do the adjustments.

My computer does have a realtek audio card but that wasn't the problem.   The solution for me was to uninstall the keyboard and restart the computer.  The keyboard was installed automaticaly on reboot and it all worked perfectly.

Hope this helps.

Hi Vaibahav5555,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers.

We would like to get a better understanding of this issue so we can better assist not only you but other users with similar problems as well.

Uninstall realtek manager and check if the problem is resolved.

Check for any other software that is running and set to 'mute'. The slider only displays the status of the volume mixer device, and the device itself is shared between all the programs - if any of them changes the volume, others should move their sliders accordingly. If one program keeps muting the volume, setting it in another won't help.

Also check whether (if you have a laptop or a multimedia keyboard) the 'volume down' key is stuck.

Hope this information is helpful.

Thank you and Regards.

I have the Gigabyte 770 MB, which has the Realtek Manager as well.  This was driving me crazy, but here's what worked for me!

Run the Realtek HD Audio Manager.  On the right is a little folder icon right above the word "ANALOG" which has the Back Panel ports underneath it.  This is the Connector Settings icon.  Click it, and check the box that says "Disable front panel jack detection."

That's what did it for me.  And this was after taking stuff out of startup, ending processes, the works, and it turned out to be THAT simple.

Mark L. Ferguson you are a life saver.  this RealTek volume levelling is by far the most persistent problem i''ve been trying to fix it off and on across 2 computers i made a Windows Live account just to say thanks.  i actually almost gave up and just spend money on a hardware audio card from anyone but RealTek(even though I should still they're nice).  your solution is the first time i've seen it in over a year of looking

Hi. I encountered a problem in my volume mixer. It automatically goes down to zero. I tried your suggestion to go to communications then check the Do Nothing option. But still, nothing happens. It still goes down. I've already done SYSTEM RESTORE. But still, nothing changes. Can you help me with my problem immediately? Thanks.
