I am trying to activate readyboost in windows 7 professional 64 bit. When I go to properties on the usb drive, it says ReadyBoost is not enabled because the service responsible for ReadyBoost (sysmain) has been turned off on this computer. An administrator can turn the sysmain back on. Please help.

Hi,
type services.msc into the startmenu search and launch the tool. Search the Superfetch entry and make a double click on it. Now change the start type to "automatic" and click on start. The service now starts and you should be able to use ReadyBoost.
Btw, you should never disbale Superfetch, it slows down your PC!

Correct. The value is %systemroot%\system32\sysmain.dll

The file was not there yesterday, but it is there this morning. The scannow ran and it said
Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations. However, i cannot start superfetch. I tried again in services, as well as in the command prompt by typing net start sysmain. Each time it fails with a system error 2 The system cannot find the file specified.
