    Dear MarieMathews,

I have no words to express my gratitude for your invaluable advice!

    Thank you so much.

I shall apply this to all other machines suffering.

Although I am not a follower of conspiracy theories in this case too many questions arise:

Can it really be conincidence that MS "forgot" to fix a bug directly connected with the problem (of returning to old Win7 after forced "upgrade") eventually preventing us from continued use of the product we initially decided for and bought?

Why is there no Win7 update fixing an issue by now commonly known? Seems this is tolerated or even promoted by denying the necessity to fix it.

Not being able to back up the system is as serious an issue for the OS as can be.

    I regard this as outrageous!

Maybe there is a conspiracy shared between Volkswagen and MS? (Just kidding...)

Hope there are no other issues hidden in the depths of the restored Win7.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. It's rare that I search for something and actually find an answer that works. I, too, did a Win7 > Win10 > Win7 and had all the same problems as everyone else in this thread. I'm backing up as i write this. Well done.
