System backup error [0x80041321]

Win 7 Pro worked great, until I tried Win 10 for 48 hours and reverted to 7. That was back in early August. All sorts of files are corrupt, at least 15, and I see no acknowledgement whatsoever from Microsoft that anything is wrong. Oh, and I cannot do backups to either external hard-drive or DVD.

a) Go to Computer

b) Access OS (C:)

c) Click on Windows

d) Open System 32

e) Click on Tasks

f) Open Microsoft

g) Click Windows

h) Open WindowsBackup folder

i) Delete Automatic Backup

j) Delete Windows Backup Monitor task

k) Go back to the Control Panel

l) Click on Back up your computer

Tried a - l above... worked fine. Still get the following:

Task image is corrupt or has been tampered with (Error 0x80041321)

I have grown to passionately hate Windows 10, and the constant reminders, and Microsoft's failure to offer meaningful support to those of us who prefer Windows 7 on our desk top computers. 

It's as if nobody at corporate HQ want to hear.

Well I agree with all said, but for me, while the fix allows me to get the backup window open without the 'corrupt' message, it will not backup! incidentally, despite deleting the mentioned article's, they appear back in the folder in seconds, with copies in the waste basket? The only way I can achieve backup to my remote disk, is to open the backup disk & drag n drop files from the desktop. ????????

At one time I was an enthusiastic booster of Microsoft... not any more! I cannot begin to express my frustration with Microsoft Corporation over the bungling of Windows 7 verses Windows 10. Textbook example of a corporation who believe the customer wont walk. I am stuck with a very unstable home computer that is critical to my employment - caused by MS's lies about being able to revert to Win 7 if I did not like Win 10.

I notice this "help" forum has become very quiet since the introduction of Win 10. We get ignored. Too bad, so sad, that Microsoft don't care about their user base. I will be moving on to Linux in the new year, if my computer does not become totally useless by then.

The residual effects of Win 10 is causing all sorts of hanging up and dysfuntion in attempting to use this desktop.

Eg: Cannot do system backups; browsers freeze for several minutes; continuiously interrupted by Win 10 advert; My Documents and Public Documents have been scrambled; Outlook mail accounts continully need to refresh (the fix from Microsoft rep on this forum did nothing); the error msg. re. files being corrupted/tampered with (Error 0x80041321) when attempting to run system backup appears in approximately 20 other items, which suggests to me this is deliberate sabotage on the part of Microsoft.

The Corporation lied, plain and simple. They compounded the lie by refusing to acknowledge there are serious problems if one attempts to revert from Win-10 to Win-7.

One final tidbit that strongly suggests Microsoft set this up deliberately: If you plug in one of the many search programs designed to find the Operating System authorization number, all you find is a series of four letter BBBB repeated in place of the original number. Good thing I had the info elsewhere.

Thom, your quite right, everything points to deliberate action on behalf of MS, is this another trust case looming? If MS have one shred of decency they will issue fixes for their problems. And thank you Bill Gates, for wasting two days of my life, trying to fix what you set out to eliminate. My problems persist & worsen, Task host is now completely corrupted and like you, the OS10 ads persist with no alternative. No wonder MS's terms & Conditions mention class action exemptions, (that are not legal!). Bill Gates, Order a fix!
