    Sept 29, 2015

After restoring Windows 7 I got the error message also. I tried your advice and got another error message for the Task Scheduler.

So I tried another way suggested and combined both recommendations.

Thought I’d pass it along in case it can help someone else.

    Here’s what worked for me.

    Go to Computer

    Access OS (C:)

    Click on Windows

    Open System 32

    Click on Tasks

    Open Microsoft

    Click Windows

    Open WindowsBackup folder.****Delete Automatic Backup

    Delete Windows Backup Monitor task.

Go back to the Control Panel

Click on Back up your computer.

At this point my computer opened up the Backup and Restore and let me create a new backup.

No error messages to be seen.

Hope this is helpful to someone.

Contacted Answer Desk to resolve this problem.

They sent me the following link which took me back to this very site??

Is that really the best Microsoft can do?

Any way here is the link for those suffering from the same problem.

    Good Luck.

must be our switch from windows 7 to 10 and back to 7.  Our punishment for not liking windows 10!!!!!

How does any of this stuff help those of us who arent computer programmers...I cant fix this myself..I dont even know what any of this means..all I know is I paid a ton of money for this computer..downloaded Windows 10 on their recommendation and hated it..I couldnt even turn this computer on without entering my Microsoft ID which means they are monitoring everything I do as long as Im connected to the internet..why would anyone agree to that? They kept saying how easy it would be to go back to 7..I did that..now I cant back anything up.

They have to be aware of this but they wont fix it..the procedures Ive read here might as well be in a foreign language..sorry..Im not a computer geek but I need a computer for my job now Im screwed...I`m going to end up having to buy another one which will no doubt have Windows 10 on it.

Is anyone at Microsoft reading any of this? All the incomprehensible security updates Ive had to install and you dont have a fix for this?
