Windows 7 has stopped my SD card reader from working.

My SD card reader doesn't work in Windows 7. Have looked in device manager and all is there - have tried updating drivers and told mine are the latest (2006)...

I am not impressed with this system....looks like another Vista farce to me....

Also I have had to hard boot 4 times because my screen has frozen......WTF is going on??

Hi,

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button ![](http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows 7/Main/4/f/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg) , clicking Control Panel , clicking Appearance and Personalization , and then clicking Folder Options .

Find these settings on the View tab in Folder Options.

Clear the Hide empty drives in the Computer folder check box, and then click OK .

    I have a Lenovo W510 running Win7 64-bit. I had a problem reading any SD Card with my built-in reader.

    In devie manager I noticed that "teredo tunneling pseudo-interface" had an exclamation mark. I did some research and found out that this is for IPV6 networking which I dopn't use at present. Plus I found that many people have had problems with this. I right-clicked on it and disabled it.

    Now, without even having to reboot, Win7 recognizes my 16GB SD Card as soon as I put it in the slot.

    Curiously, downloading the XP version of the drivers from Toshiba resolved my problem too. We both have the same Ricoh card reader. When I first upgraded to Win7 64-bit, the SD card reader would only work if I inserted a card and rebooted. After updating to SP1, it wouldn't work at all. I installed the XP drivers, rebooted and the reader suddenly works as Plug-n-Play again.

    I also read your next comment that they stopped working on their own the next day. I guess I'll just never reboot again.
