Windows 7 has stopped my SD card reader from working.

My SD card reader doesn't work in Windows 7. Have looked in device manager and all is there - have tried updating drivers and told mine are the latest (2006)...

I am not impressed with this system....looks like another Vista farce to me....

Also I have had to hard boot 4 times because my screen has frozen......WTF is going on??

Hi,

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button ![](http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows 7/Main/4/f/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg) , clicking Control Panel , clicking Appearance and Personalization , and then clicking Folder Options .

Find these settings on the View tab in Folder Options.

Clear the Hide empty drives in the Computer folder check box, and then click OK .

    Well it goes to prove that one shouldn't count ones chickens. The next time I turned it on same problem again. Reloaded drivers. Nothing. To be honest I am sick of it so bought a USB plug in SD card reader for £7. Problem although NOT sorted has been. Circumvented.

    Some one from the AV forum suggested I try old XP drivers. So I went onto Samsung website and downloaded them ...and ...........it works..all sorted now.

    Many thanks for all your patience - interesting to note that Windows 7 is based on XP and not a Vista improvement.....now all I have to do is find out how to mark this thread SORTED
