Windows 7 has stopped my SD card reader from working.

My SD card reader doesn't work in Windows 7. Have looked in device manager and all is there - have tried updating drivers and told mine are the latest (2006)...

I am not impressed with this system....looks like another Vista farce to me....

Also I have had to hard boot 4 times because my screen has frozen......WTF is going on??

Hi,

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button ![](http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows 7/Main/4/f/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg) , clicking Control Panel , clicking Appearance and Personalization , and then clicking Folder Options .

Find these settings on the View tab in Folder Options.

Clear the Hide empty drives in the Computer folder check box, and then click OK .

If You want to say thanks to anyone just click on Vote As Helpful (which is under every user avatar).

If Your problem is solved please mark then Your thread is with solution.

    Very good! I got it working!  However, I couldn't find Helpful tab to quote as excellent.

    Hi.  I'm having the same problem as Leo. It says the driver date is 6/21/2006 ... when I search for updates I'm told that there is no update. I unchecked the "Hide empty drives" setting like you suggested and it still isn't working.  Please help!

    Is your SD card reader just SD or is it SDHC? Unless it's the latter
    you can't read 8GB cards in it, and you need to buy an SDHC reader.
