Every time the computer is shut down, it always says installing update do not turn off your computer

Hi,

I am facing this issue since last 10 days, and every time I restart my system it starts updating my laptop, and it takes more than 20 minutes every time. I checked in my update history, and found this failed to install something. Let me see if you can help me with this!

2017-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4048954)

Requires a restart to finish installing

Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2553347) 32-Bit Edition

Failed to install on 10/12/2017

Please tell me what is this i even tried to update it, but same error. :(

I am experiencing the same problem with an update that needs to be installed on each shutdown.  When I check the Windows Update history, I find 15 entries (10 consecutive entries) of the following:

Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)

Installation date: ‎12/‎26/‎2016 12:53 AM

Installation status: Successful

Update type: Important

A security issue has been identified leading to MFC application vulnerability in DLL planting due to MFC not specifying the full path to system/localization DLLs.  You can protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft.  After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

I don't think pointing out that 'me too' comments to 6+ year old conversations are likely to be untrue at several levels, or at least not ACTUALLY likely to be the same issue with the same variables and that presenting details about said issue instead of 'jumping on the band wagon' (being as old as it is, the wagon is probably replaced or at least not being maintained as well at this point, to continue the metaphor) might actually be productive as opposed to just resurrecting a thing that somehow keeps coming back every few months where people would be wiser to post NEW questions with specifics about what they have, have done, can do, need to see, etc. - is in any way indicative of my day going well or not - nor was it meant as anything but a gentle reminder of what one might do when posting to a place where help is being requested and provided by peers.

For the curious: that day was great, this day is as good, if not better.  ;-)
