Music flickers/crackles in Windows Media Player when browsing the Internet

HI - I just got a new PC with Windows 7.  It's an HP Pavillion Slimline with 3GB Memory and an Intel duo core processor.  I'm finding that when I play MP3s or WMAs via Windows Media Player that the sound crackles (sounds like static) when I browse the Internet using IE8.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated on how to fix this annoying issue.

    Possible bad factory assembly of the heatsink/themal compound used.

    wonder if that has to do with some NICs offloading more work to your CPU than others.

    Also, you wondered if the problem has to do with some NICs offloading more work to the CPU than others. I'm wondering about this with some concern - even if it were true, surely the state of the art Intel Quad core CPU should be able to handle a few extra cycles from the nic? Is it really feasible that the CPU would fail in this scenario?

    If you can copy the \windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log we can see what has been installed. You can use http://skydrive.live.com or another web page if you have one.

    If your motherboard has an onboard NIC, did this issue happen on it?

    And yes, the Mobo has a nic, and it has the same problem.

    Which model is on your motherboard? Also, it looks like you uploaded the setupapi.app.log. We need the setupapi.dev.log.
