I cannot download pictures from my iphone to my PC. The PC recognizes itunes and syncs with the iphone. However, the pc does not recognize the iphone as an external device (i.e. camera).  Therefore, I do not see the iphone under the computer as a device options. Also, I checked the settings on autoload and they are correct, however the PC still does not recognize nor does it autoload the Iphone. I spoke with apple tech support and they said it is not a problem with the iphone but instead it is a problem with Microsoft. can you please help me?

Thank you for using Microsoft Answers Forums!

1.       Were you able to download pictures from Iphone earlier?

2.       Any recent changes made on your computer?

3.       Are you getting any error while downloading pictures?

You may try this method.

If you click start and within the start search type auto play you then should see auto play populate under programs select auto play.

Once in Auto play scroll down to Devices and see if you see your Iphone within devices click the drop down box and set to import pictures using windows then click ok then plug you Iphone and see if it lets you import.

Also if you want it to ask you what action you want to take whenever you plug in your Iphone just select "ask me every time" from the Auto play.

The Iphone will not transfer photos to your computer if the device is locked and you are using a pass code. If you want to transfer photos, simply unlock (Slide to unlock and enter pass code) your device to transfer photos.

Note: Plug the Iphone to your computer in unlocked mode.

    I have complained many times---why do they fix things that aren't broke when they have so many real problems. They get so complicated with so much **** that I couldn't possibly use that they can't figure out what's wrong with them.

    To all, I've tried many many things to resolve this issue.  The interesting thing is that I can down load another application which will recognize the iPhone and even allow me to connect and view photos and videos.

    It seems Microsoft has an issue.  My iPhone doesn't show in device manager under any category.

    I repaired all Apple related software, stopped and restarted, rebooted PC, Phone multiple times.

    Microsoft needs to solve this issue for it's customers that have iPhones

    My Android phone shows up in 'Devices' but no 'ICON' pops up to click on. My cousin was able to finally get my pictures up loaded to my picture file in a very round about way. I have been extremely frustrated since I went to Windows 10, and others I talked to said the same thing. I have e-mailed Microsoft several times to "stop fixing things that aren't broke and just fix the numerous things that are broke". They won't listen, and continue to make stupid changes to the system. Every time I get on my computer I have to waste time figuring out how to navigate their changes. What kind of morons are working there? No small or medium size company could stay in business with their kind of management and lack of concern for the customer. Everyone I talk to says the same thing.

    I have same problem and it used to work simple..plug in phone and it asked if wanted to download recent pics ..why after the last update does this not work or recognize my iPhone...I can see phone icon but it says windows cant install the drivers...?? sick of it

    Really need these pics TODAY
