Windows Media Player 12: Always show list
Hi everyone,
I recently updated my computer to Windows 7.
When I was on XP, the list pane of WMP 11 was always displayed in the right part of the screen (except in full screen mode).
Now on WMP 12, I have to manually right-click and choose "Show list" each time I open WMPand each time a new video starts .
Could you tell me how to permanently display the list pane ?

There is no way to get or save the "list pane" in Windows Media Player 12. You must create a playlist to see your play list pane.
I've been playing around with this for hours trying to get the same thing your tyring to get. Microsoft has changed alot in version Windows Media Player 12. The last version of windows media player 11 is the only version that can show the playing list pane.
First off, I wish people would read the questions before they reply. This is something that may be excusable by a regular user, but is definitely inexcusable by Microsoft. I too am have the same exact problem that the original poster has stated. What bugs me is that I cannot figure out how these user interface designers got jobs at Microsoft. If you take any user interface design course in college or university, they will tell you that it is a bad idea to switch things up on users especially if they are used to doing one thing a certain way for so long. I'm still just all to happy that the close ('x') is still at the top right of all the Windows. My guess is that by Windows9, it will be at the top left. In other words, put things the way the people are used to them. If you want to add a feature, then by all means add it, but always always give the option to go back to the old way. I can maybe understand doing this for new features, sure. But this is NOT a new feature! This is a preference! Preferences need options, period. There absolutely needs to be a checkbox for this under "Tools->Options->Player". This is just plain ridiculous. Common guys, you can do better than this.
If this is a bug or something you guys just missed in the "requirements phase" of the design, then I apologize.
This is about videos not music or songs. When the video is playing I should not have to click "Show list". The list should already be there WHILE the video is playing.

my playlist Used to be like what you've describe,
but guess what? mine has been showing up each time i opened it.(YES, in "Now Playing" mode)
HOW? okok lets see...
Each time u run A song, You have to manually right-click and choose "Show list" a few times until WMP12 remembers it.
just make sure WMP12 is Pinned to your Taskbar.
i'm not sure if this works, but if there is anyone endured the pain in the ____ for 1month like me, would you kind enough to confirm this?
I want this feature back too. I just upgraded to Win7 and I'm pretty pissed about this change. Bring back the playlist!
Its funny because its only happen with videos. If you play music files like mp3 the list is not disappearing.
That's because opening a mp3 doesn't take you to a black screen (with visualization) like earlier wmp versions did. It just keep showing the library on the "main area".
