Windows Media Player 12: Always show list

Hi everyone,

I recently updated my computer to Windows 7.

When I was on XP, the list pane of WMP 11 was always displayed in the right part of the screen (except in full screen mode).

Now on WMP 12, I have to manually right-click and choose "Show list" each time I open WMPand each time a new video starts .

Could you tell me how to permanently display the list pane ?

Thank you

Regards,

Phil

There is no way to get or save the "list pane" in Windows Media Player 12. You must create a playlist to see your play list pane.

I've been playing around with this for hours trying to get the same thing your tyring to get.  Microsoft has changed alot in version Windows Media Player 12. The last version of windows media player 11 is the only version that can show the playing list pane.

The problem is with Windows 12 media player. Not necesarily Windows 7. It is not a user error or a simple bug. this is a change made by Microsoft by some dummy at Microsoft. I want the list to ALWAYS show (excelt when I click on Full Scren) There is no way to save it as the default. I DONT want to create a playlist, I just want my media player to show what all I have playing. I go from Music to the player and when I am in the music folder I right click on a song and add it to the now playing. I wnat to be able to see what all I have selected EVERYTIME, without having to right click on the toolbar in media player and tell it to show list. why can't Microsoft just let me control how I want my player to look.

I know this has nothing to do wiht this post, but while I am on this totem pole, I want to also complain about things being moved around all the time. EVEN in the new version of windows 7 and office 2007 sometime the printer is on the right on the toolbar and sometimes it is on the left at the top, depending on what MICROSOFT program I am in. why cant ALL the programmers at Microsof tjust agree to drive on one side of the road... Make a decision and stick with it for a while. I mean come on... XP was the best OS you have ever had. The sales prove that... so many businesses decided to skip Vista and wait until the next version comes out... Sales slump. and now windows 7 is nothing more than a modified Vista. So hopefully we can hang on to XP PRO for a few more years until Microsoft gets the message. REDO XP Pro... make windows 8 more user friendly like XP was. so I dont really caare about all the fancy pretty stuff. I want a FREAKING FAST computer that is reiable. But I also NEED Microsoft due to compatibilties of other programs....

Microsoft, Listen to your users. the people in the trenches that use it daily. Come of ViJay B... Are you still listening? There are some of us that dont want the pretty boy graphics and changing background screens and fancy colors... We actually wnat to use our computers and do some work... Create a version for us thats Fast, simple, light, and most of all realible... OH and some standardizations would be nice also.

ok. I will get off your case now. At least bring back the show list as an optional default in the next patch...

    DB.
