Cannot open ODM files in Overdrive Media Console

Hi. I am trying to listen to an Overdrive protected audio file from a

local public library. 

When I try opening the ODM file in Overdrive Media Console, for

delivery of the full media file, I get the error "Unable to aquire a license to play the selected title. The requested license is either invalid or already aquired"

 I get an other error when I try to

get the "Security Upgrade" for WMP11. 

I am using Vista 64 bit on a HP a67oof, WMP11, IE8

Overdrive media console is  16bit software so I dont know if thats why I cant get it work???

Bri-bee, I recommend you visit the following page to contact OverDrive Media Console's support, this is a 3rd party product and we are unfamiliar with its requirements to provide support:

    I had similar problems to the rest of you; I couldn't run the upgrade from within Overdrive Media Console. I couldn't get the  http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/indivsite/en/indivit.asp link to work either - until I tried it in Internet Explorer! Apparently Chrome doesn't play well with the microsoft site. FINALLY - this has been a pain to work through!

    I am running Vista 64 bit.  I have tried the above solution (deleting 4 filesfrom DRM), updating OverDrive Media Player and Windows Media Player, and everything offered on this solution site.  Nothing works.

    The wierd thing is OverDrive worked fine for about two months then I started getting the message--Unable to aquire a license to play the selected title.  The requested licenseis invalid or already aquired--

    There is no such thing a OverDrive help.  The "help" is just canned solutions and does not address this particular problem.

    I am having a similar issues. A few week ago I downloaded overdrive and security upgrade and it worked. i was able to play audio from my ibrary. greatest thing sinceslices bread truely!! I rescently upgraded to internet explorer 9 and now  I not can not play files/ download??? This is the message I keep getting. I do not understand why it is now all the sudden not working, can anyone help???

    "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
