Cannot open ODM files in Overdrive Media Console

Hi. I am trying to listen to an Overdrive protected audio file from a

local public library. 

When I try opening the ODM file in Overdrive Media Console, for

delivery of the full media file, I get the error "Unable to aquire a license to play the selected title. The requested license is either invalid or already aquired"

 I get an other error when I try to

get the "Security Upgrade" for WMP11. 

I am using Vista 64 bit on a HP a67oof, WMP11, IE8

Overdrive media console is  16bit software so I dont know if thats why I cant get it work???

Bri-bee, I recommend you visit the following page to contact OverDrive Media Console's support, this is a 3rd party product and we are unfamiliar with its requirements to provide support:

    Are you still having this issue? This is the exact problem I am having. Some books work, but the ones that required the security upgrade will download but I click play and nothing happens. It just shows the parts with an empty column on the right. If you found out how to fix this I would be grateful if you told me how. If not, I am calling Overdrive

    Hi EmilouBlue,

    I DID finally find an answer that worked for me.  Re-posting from another site I had posted it on.  I've had NO problems at all with the Overdrive Media Console since that time.

    Hi folks.

    Just found an answer on another site, and it worked for me! WMP12 now plays the test wma file, and Overdrive Media Console now plays the files that you can download from your library. Tested on audiobook, music, and video.

    The answer was to change a key in the registry. Start Menu/type regedit/hit enter.Drill down to the key below. Change from 1 to 00000000

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio\

    "DisableProtectedAudioDG"=dword:00000000

    After this, reboot your computer. 

    Hope this helps others that have searched high and low for an answer.

    mamastar: if you try jmk55412's suggestion (see previous post), does that help?

    If not, please try clearing IE's Temporary Internet files and Cookies. Also reset IE's settings, through the Advancedpage of  Internet Options in Control Panel.

    I tried jmk55412's sugestion but when I get to part at end  "DisableProtectedAudioDG"=dword:00000000     that is not there. I only have default,  EnableCaptureMonitor, and EnableLogonHIDControl   So I don't know where to go from here. Thought I was getting somewhere but do not know where to go next. I also reset IE
