Cannot open ODM files in Overdrive Media Console

Hi. I am trying to listen to an Overdrive protected audio file from a

local public library. 

When I try opening the ODM file in Overdrive Media Console, for

delivery of the full media file, I get the error "Unable to aquire a license to play the selected title. The requested license is either invalid or already aquired"

 I get an other error when I try to

get the "Security Upgrade" for WMP11. 

I am using Vista 64 bit on a HP a67oof, WMP11, IE8

Overdrive media console is  16bit software so I dont know if thats why I cant get it work???

Bri-bee, I recommend you visit the following page to contact OverDrive Media Console's support, this is a 3rd party product and we are unfamiliar with its requirements to provide support:

    I am also experiencing this problem.  The "Upgrade" button on the above microsoft drm webpage is greyed out, thus it is non functionable.  Why is it greyed out?  I can't find an answer yet to that question.  If we can get a solution to UN-greying that webpage button, perhaps we can make some progress on this problem.

    I'm trying to do this while in an administrator user account on my computer.

    I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, Windows Media Player 12.0.7601.

    I followed many other steps above (which I am sure were necessary) but the final piece of the puzzle was to use Explorer as suggested in this article.  I am up and running.

    I tried the link and it worked perfectly.  So after 45 minutes of trying to access an ODM file I downloaded from my local library I can finally listen to the darned thing!  Thanks so much.

    1. Open the website (in Internet Explorer; Firefox does not work as of this writing) listed here: http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/indivsite/en/indivit.asp, and click the "Upgrade" button.

    You will also need to run IE as administrator (right-click - Run as administrator).
