Hi. I am trying to listen to an Overdrive protected audio file from a
local public library.
When I try opening the ODM file in Overdrive Media Console, for
delivery of the full media file, I get the error "Unable to aquire a license to play the selected title. The requested license is either invalid or already aquired"
I get an other error when I try to
get the "Security Upgrade" for WMP11.
I am using Vista 64 bit on a HP a67oof, WMP11, IE8
Overdrive media console is 16bit software so I dont know if thats why I cant get it work???

Hey everyone, I was having this same problem with ebooks I borrowed online from my library. Nothing in this thread worked except this:

Running that ResetDRM tool (in compatibility mode & as an administrator) FINALLY solved this problem for me!
Edited to add: My problem was with Overdrive, not a Zune but this did work!
My issue is also with overdrive. I've tried everything in this thread, nothing has worked. I've run IE as admin and nothing I've tried will get that button un-greyed. That link I quoted does nothing for me - even after I run compatability mode to win 7 and run as admin. I've cleared out temp internet files, reset IE, added *.Microsoft.com to my list of trusted sites and specifically added http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/indivsite/en/indivit.asp as well to no avail. The error I get is 'A problem has occurred in the Digital Rights Management Component' - specifically error code 0xcood2711.
I also tried every solution with no joy as well, then from the IE window on the Upgrade page I selected TOOLS > COMPATABILITY VIEW -- then the Upgrade button was active and no longer grayed out and I was able to Upgrade.
I must say Carey, the steps you provided really helped and now the software works. I've been having this problem for a long time and nothing worked, till now. Thank you.
