Unable to create a system repair disc 0x80070057

The problem is solved.  Got disks form Computer Manufacture.  Thanks all for the help.

A solution for you is good.

But can you make your own yet; or is it still refusing?

I got mine off a torrent as I am out of date and don`t want to pay for something that should have worked out of the box.

·         Which method did you follow to create the recovery disc?

 

i.           Boot the system by inserting Windows 7 installation disc.

ii.         When it gets to the main setup window, click on Repair from the lower left corner.

iii.       Select Command Prompt from the main Repair menu. 

iv.        At the command prompt type in recdisc, then ENTER.

v.          You'll get the popup to choose which drive letter to create the Recovery disc to.

vi.        Have a clean DVD in the DVD drive and select start.

This should get your System repair disc created.

I been trying that for TWO WHOLE YEARS SOLID and still no boot repair disc.

I want to make my own.....

Toshiba A660 3D Dynabook

Windows Ultimate x64

GT 350M Graphics.

8GB RAM

1 TB Hard drive.

CD/DVDs work fine.

NO BACK up Just the error message.

Tried the command, as Admin under DOS window. So often my fingers are red.

If you are having trouble creating system restore disks (error: 0x80070057) on an HP computer using the Windows 7 utility, consider that HP may have hijacked the utility (rendering it not functional).  You may have to use the HP Recovery Media Creation utility that came with your new computer.

It is likely that running "sfc /scannow" from the command prompt will result in no corrupt files found, and therefore attempting to "repair" the installation will be pointless. 

The HP Recovery Media Creation is actually a CyberLink utility and I believe that as long as it is installed on the computer, the "create a system repair disc" utility that comes with Windows 7 will not work.  Try the HP utility as it seems to work.

The problem I am having is that I bought the Laptop abroad, in Japan and CANNOT install Toshiba software "IN ENGLISH" Mutha-Fu**** because the site asks for the serial numbers and does not recognize them on English sites.

And

NO

People working abroad cannot always read the local language (or in my case) Japanese chinese Kanji which takes decades to learn fully.
