Old title: Windows Media Player giving wrong info....
I try to rip my music CDs to Windows Media Player but my recent new albums it gives me the wrong album info why is this? any clues.

It's possible that WMP incorrectly identifies a CD as another album. To fix this, look up the album info manually: right-click one of the tracks, select Find album info , search for the correct album, and follow the remaining steps of the wizard.

If you go to the All Music Guide database (which is used by WMP), and the information there is incorrect as well, you should be able to correct it there.
Also, if you make corrections through Find Album Info, that information might be used to correct the database in the future.
I recently upgraded to Win10 and chose FLAC. Not sure how the output format would have much to do with whether or not CD info can be found.
By the way, I haven't been able to repro it with any CD recently except this particular David Gilmour CD. (and to add to the confusion, I happen to have that Keith Richards CD, but haven't yet ripped it...will be interesting to remove the errant gilmour, rip the richards, the rip gilmore again)
I will change output format to something/anything else to make sure that isn't an issue.
Kelly, I noticed that you're ripping to FLAC. I assume that you're using WMP 12 on Windows 10, since support for ripping to FLAC was only added there? And even there, the FLAC support is flaky at best. Do you still experience the same issues if you rip to MP3 or WMA?
Hi Kelly - thanks for updating and clarifying... I'm a bit busy with other things this evening but I'll read through the points you have made. I do a fair amount of album creation myself for non-commercial applications (friends' music etc.) but I don't seem to have the issues you experience, so we'll compare notes later on - hopefully might be able to make things a bit more manageable.
