Old title: Windows Media Player giving wrong info....
I try to rip my music CDs to Windows Media Player but my recent new albums it gives me the wrong album info why is this? any clues.

It's possible that WMP incorrectly identifies a CD as another album. To fix this, look up the album info manually: right-click one of the tracks, select Find album info , search for the correct album, and follow the remaining steps of the wizard.

If you go to the All Music Guide database (which is used by WMP), and the information there is incorrect as well, you should be able to correct it there.
Also, if you make corrections through Find Album Info, that information might be used to correct the database in the future.
Windsong777: what's the file type of the affected files (MP3, WMA, WAV...)?
You should be able to stop this from happening by unchecking Retrieve additional information from the Internet, or by selecting Only add missing information (in WMP's Options - Library).
Hi, I am also having a problem with Windows Media Player, in the conversion to
Media Player 11 it wiped out all my files on my Windows movie maker as corrupted...
Quite strange.
As if that was not bad enough, all my original music, keeps getting flagged as other albums that are not even remotely related as I am singing on my songs, playing my guitar and or keyboards.
My song came back under Chiccone youth, and like if someone is messing around and renaming my files it showed up on file name, which I did not add...and then Windows Media Player asks me if I want to buy? My Own songs???? Very untrustworthy...At least the old player I was able to change to my own album cover, now I have to delete my songs from the library.
Read your instructions, will try again, is it possible Original songs are being hijacked????

SummerBulb: I have just tried it myself and can't find that CD either. Unfortunately, I have no idea how WMP's Find album info is coupled to AMG so I can't tell you the reason for this.
The CD might be returned by WMP's search once you enter the info manually through Find album info.
