Hi tropicalvic,

Let’s follow these steps which should fix the issue.

Step 1

If you have any third party antivirus software and firewall disable them temporarily and make sure that the Windows Firewall is turned on. Then check if the issue reappears.

Step 2

  1. Open Run, and  type in services.msc then press Enter.
  2. In services window, locate Windows Defender service in the services list.
  3. Verify that the Status is Started. If the Status column is blank,

right click on the service and select Start.

4 If you get error trying to force start the Windows Defender service, try to change the Startup Type to Automatic, and then restart the computer.

Hope the information helps. Please post back and let us know.

Regards

Hello there.. I am also using Windows Essentials. I have the same problem with the same error code. I followed the above steps and no luck..:(  Did not have this problem until I downloaded AVG. I have tried everything to remove AVG from my computer but it will not leave my computer!. I tried to remove it from the control panel and I even put it in the recycle bin. Its still on my pc but I cannot open it up to run it. Can this be the reason that my windows defender will not work? I just keep getting this same eroor code. Got any information for me on this as to how I can fix this problem? Should I just reformatt my whole computer?
