UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK since we've got the ball rolling here, I am editing this to better reflect what is going on. The below links are just a few out of hundreds of post you will find on the internet about this Aero Lag. Some offer workarounds and some don't. I just Googled Aero Lag and this was from the first page.

If you have the same problem, please provide:

What type of graphics card you have.
What kind of drivers are you using (Win7 preinstalled or manufacturer's drivers)
Was your version of Win7 an update or clean install.
What motherboard you have.

From the sounds of it, Microsoft is looking for a fix.

I also ask for a forum admin to make this a sticky as many people are experiencing this problem.

**Have solved my problem withAeor lag.**Reinstall Windows 7 U64 twice with new/old driver.

Replaced Gforce 8800GTX with Gforce GTX480.

Have spent many days on this problem without a solution.

But here is a very simple solution that works for me.

I removed the USB extension cablefor my CreativeHS-1200WirelessUSB Gaming Headset.

Aero lags when Iused USB extension cable and headset charging.

Without USB extension cable, everything is fine.

So it think itis a voltagedrop in the USB extension cable,causes the system to lag. ?

Hmm maybe your rigth zensanity, maybe it was just an subjective experience by me wanting it to be smooth :(

I'm starting to think this migth be some kind of hardware issue, it's strange though how it differs from so many setups + vista worked just fine and as we all know vista is supposed to be slower.

Yea I would like Debbie or David or some other microsoft employee to get involved in the discussion again.

don't think any support staff are gonna look in this thread again since it appears to have been answered.

ab.be I did as you suggested but found that nothing changed (except my disk benchmarks got slower). The stutter remained. I guess it's back to the drawing board for me.

I'd just like some official word from Microsoft stating that this is an issue, or it's actually built-in to the OS.

Hi!

I got this problem too, one thing I did try was disabling the write cache on the hard drive.

Do this, go to device manager, select your hd wich has windows 7 installed on it, go to policies tab and uncheck "Enable write cache on this device". This smoothed the animation for me when closing windows, it is better opening windows to but still a bit choppy. Hope this help you guys out a bit.
