We understand your concern about not being able to forward picture in email and we will assist you. We suggest to provide us the an eml file of your email so that we could escalate it to our Support Specialist. Here are the steps on how to get the .eml file:

1. On your Inbox page drag the email that you wish to forward
2. Paste it on your desktop page.

Here are the steps to upload a file:

1. On the private area of the moderator's post, click Upload a File.
2. Click Select.
3. Navigate to where the file you want to upload is saved on your computer and click Submit.

You can post the .eml file on the private message that I've provided***. Private message tab*** is located at the top of your post.  Please make sure that you're signed in to this forum to view the link.

Thanks for your comment and your support on the picture forwarding problem.  Let's hope they can sort out the glitch.  I think we're all agreed now that this is clearly a bug in WLM and it ought to be sorted out.

With regard to your comment on mail archiving - Yes, I've done that too.  It's OK when you've only got a limited number of archives.  However, when I was using Outlook Express I got up to over 200.  When you get a fair sized archive like that it's a pain in the neck to scroll down to the folder you want every time you want to add another message from your inbox.  So you just leave them in date order and let them pile up.  Not good, really, and the inbox gets enormous, which all adds to the on-line storage requirement (but then again it makes searching by 'external bodies' easier I guess). 

With Outlook Express, all you needed to do was select the message, press CTRL +Tab (I think) and it brought up a little dialogue box and if you typed in the first three letters of your archive file title it took you straight to it.  Hit Rtn and the message got transferred straight to it.  Neat hey?  Fast and easy, just like we want.

So, when you get the WLM upgrade, Microsoft 'forgot' that feature.  Now why was that?  It didn't make any difference to them at all, it was just a nice capability that proper users could enjoy.

For some reason, Microsoft still seems to be labouring under the illusion that emails are some kind of second-class temporary communication that you don't go back to.  WRONG!!!  The first thing that the legal boys go after these days is the email trail.  It's the same for client communications - you want to go back and see how you got to where you are now.  Sure, you can do a search on your inbox, but if you're using several mail accounts it's a whole lot easier if you just archive the sent and received messages as you go along and then they're all there to interrogate in date order when you need them.

As I said, it's no wonder that Apple are winning hands down.

Hey Bill, I'm using Windows Live Mail and have 28 folders in my Storage Folders.  This even includes a folder that I called ZZ-Archives (so it would always stay at the bottom of the list out of the way) in which I placed emails copied from my previous computer with Outlook Express.  Use the tab called "Folders" to the right of the "Home" tab in the ribbon at the top.  I'm not familiar with sorting messages alphabetically, but I definitely do not have to keep them all in my inbox.

Thanks for your efforts in asking Microsoft to fix the forwarding problem with photos.  The only thing I have found is to use "Forward as attachment" but I don't like that because of not being able to remove the previous sender(s) email address(es) before forwarding.

In answer to your questions:

1.  The last pic I tried to forward like this was 118 kb (I just saved it to a file and checked the size).  I don't believe that excessive size of the picture has anything to do with this problem.

2.  I don't believe it's an update problem.  I'm bang up to date with all available updates and this problem is not new.

I hadn't tried forwarding such a message using web mail (i.e. the browser based mail Hotmail account), but I have tested it just now and you are correct that this works fine.

This suggests that the problem is some kind of glitch with the Desktop version of Windows Live Mail.

I don't use the browser version most of the time because I'm not always able to connect to a fast internet connection, so the WLM version generally is more convenient for me.

So, a bit of progress, and thank you for taking interest in this query.  It seems to affect a fair number of people, so I do think it would be worth fixing.

By the way, while I'm responding to you, can I also point out that the WLM version does not allow archiving in the same convenient way that Outlook Express used to do.  It used to be possible to conveniently sort mail messages into titled archive folders so that you could keep the important stuff together and dump out the trash stuff every now and again.  However, the alphabetical sort capability that used to be available when sorting messages was lost when the Windows Live Mail 'upgrade' was launched, so the only real option now is to leave everything in your inbox.  This makes finding historical communications a great deal more cumbersome, and I do wish Microsoft would restore the earlier capability.
