Windows 7 Media player will not play back BluRay disc's

Here we go. If the answer given to us true, than we need to start using another operating system in order to get the executive of Microsoft out of their comforted behind.  The idea that in order to prove to the competition that Microsoft is a larger than life therefore there is no need to provide useful product, need to stop. We are the customer, therefore our need to be place in the front of the market and not in the back of it. Here we had a "tech or engineer" telling us that in order for us to be able to satisfied our need, we need to go out into the third party market and purchase a third party equipment is garbage. If I had a company and one of the employee were to give such an answer to one of the customer, that employee will be terminated right away. Is Microsoft getting that low? I guess the answer is yes.

I just want to bump this thread and mention in January 2013, with windows 8, and now a stand alone pay seperate Media Center, there is no reason Microsoft still has not included bluray movie playback functionality. I am sure that the majority of people who are purchasing Media Center are using it as a HTPC setup where native DVD and Bluray playback would be welcome. With that said, Microsoft has already used the excuse not everone will use bluray movie playback and it does not make sense to add it since it will cost the consumer more. If it costs the consumer more at this point so be it. It's not like it's going to affect the cost of the average Windows 8 user that doesn't want to pay extra for Media Center.  And please spare me the "you can download powerdvd, etc...". I have it, not as good as native.

I do not know why you keep insisting on providing answers that are illogical. First, Microsoft will never be denied of the right to purchase the right of selling a software in order to play a blue ray . It is an economic advantage for Sony to have a company as big as Microsoft selling their product.  Not only will they be able to exponentially increase their profit, but also their market. Sony is no longer building TVs. Samsung is building it for them even though they are competitors in the same market. It is about profit, and not revenge. Also, Apple will never close the door to Microsoft do to common interest. As anyone can see, Apple users have compatible software such as Word been use on their operating system. Do you believe Microsoft does not have knowledge about Apple been providing access to word to their customer using Word? It is business and not personal. (profit). In respect to the cost of the devise, Microsoft should think about what is going on with the market. The largest media market right now is blue ray. Weather Microsoft like it or not. And no, I or better say, we are not the minority when it comes to what devices are been use for media players in todays market. Please, do not insult anyone intelligences.
