Error Code 66A

I keep getting an error code when I try to install the latest Security Update for .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2160841)

Can't get it resolved...any suggestions?

Remove Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 with the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx ) , reinstall the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 and install the Update.

I uninstalled Netframe and I no longer have the problem. Thanks for your help!!

I just had a great success with this error. I went to START, CONTROL PANEL, PROGRAMS AND FEATURES, MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK 4 CLIENT PROFILE, UNINSTALL, THEN REPAIR. My update installed successfully after that.

I have the same problem, but I am a little computer illiterate. How do I uninstall and then reinstall? I know I need that .NET Framework Cleanup Tool but how do I know I wont mess up my registry numbers and stuff?

Sorry for the dumb question. I don't want to mess up my computer.
