Microphone delay when recording in Windows 7

Wow it's so sad to see all this still failing, i'm a music producer since many years back now..

So, for all who doesn't understand the problem:

It is NOT a driver issue

It is NOT a recording application issue

It is NOT a hardware issue

It is NOT anything you have installed (codecs apps etc)

However IT IS a microsoft windows 7 issue!

Some people say "turn of listen to device", what that does is turning the sound output off in your headphones/speakers, the problem still remains (the recordning is still being recorded at 0,5 second delay.

And to all microsoft support's or whatever occupation you have within the company.

Do me a favor: right click on your sound icon in the taskbar and press recordning device, double click on the mic you are using ( try talk and u see a green bar move). without any applications started or codecs or whatever you want to blame put on "listen to device"...   sing some, talk some, do some click sounds in your microphone and YOU WILL HEAR THE DELAY! it should be a direct response like in all previous version of your operating systems....   But somehow in windows 7..  you failed?!!

It's a purely microsoft windows 7 problem, please fix it.

Also i do understand you have windows 8 out there and might not want to put in time, money or effort to even deal with this problem, but put yourself in our shoes for a second.

Ok the new windows 7 came out, people bought your product in trust of that a little thing like this would be a given to work, it didn't..

What makes you belive we want to put out money for windows 8? when the previous version didn't work? will this be a problem next time too?  will i just throw cash into trash AGAIN?

You might tell us it will work on win8 but we still spent money on this version and i think we are worthy having a simple thing like recording playback to be included in the price.

I don't know how the company microsoft deals with anything like this, but perhaps just take a team somewhere, remove the whole sound chapter in windows 7...   remake it as simple as possible, put it on next windows update for us, dont care if it's 10 mb or 4 gb...  make it work! and a simple reboot after to be up and running.

Do something atleast about the problem, and please stop blaming other issues when everything worked in windows xp and earlier versions.

I am on an online karaoke community, and I was switching out a 9 year old XP system for a "new" Win7 system (secondhand from a family member).  There are several things that have to be set up on it to be able to sing live online (mainly having Stereomix, What U Hear, or Wave Out available and enabled), but the biggest pain I had was that annoying 1/2 second delay.  The admins at the karaoke website did not have a solution, and I even posted the question on the Dell community forum (computer is a Dell Inspiron) with no success.  Then I found this forum.

Please note that it may depend upon the sound system that is on the computer or from a sound card as to the success of this.  My computer is a model from 2011, with Realtek HD surround sound (total of 6 audio ports), running Windows 7 Home premium.  I have the mic and 2 sysnthesizers plugged into a TASCAM PortaStudio 424 (original) purely as a mixing board, then from output (twin RCA) to a stereo 3.5mm plug.

Just finished having someone listen to it in the chat room, and the sound is awesome, and I can hear myself as I speak, not 1/2 a second later.

I'm a mac. And I have barely any latency! I'm a PC, and I'm a piece of Tuna when it comes to this junk! :D *sarcastic smile*
