"Play-to" network device keeps repeating same song

When I move a group of songs to the play area on the right-hand panel and select the "play-to" drop-down item, my DLNA compatible AV controller appears. When I select it, a new window opens, and the first song on the list begins playing on the AV device. Fine.

The problem is that song just keeps repeating. It doesn't matter whether the "repeat" control is turned on or off. I can click on any song in the list and it happily plays that song - over and over and over :-(

If I select a saved playlist from the DLNA client, it plays just fine and doesn't repeat. Unfortunately, I want to control the device from WMP, not from the panel of the DLNA client.

Help appreciated.

this is likely something that needs to be fixed by Denon. do they have a support

forum and are other users reporting the same issue?

    I am dealing with the same issue, so I'm curious if someone at Microsoft looked into it.  It was working fine for the previous year and sometime last fall I started encountering the problem where it just repeatedly played the same first song over and over.  I've confirmed the same situation from 4 Windows 7 PC in the house.  I think it happens regardless of where the file is located, but most of my songs are stored on a Windows Home Server.  I Play To a Denon AVR-5308CI.   As mentioned above, it worked well for over a year and then stopped working last fall.  The "Play To" window within Windows Media Player gets to the end of song 1 and a second or two later it highlights and replays regardless of what the "Repeat" setting is.  I typically play entire albums I ripped from my CDs, so they are all in WMA format.

    Help appreciated - did something change in the updates last fall?

    looks like you guys never got this sorted, right? Same here. Sick of hearing the same song over and over again ;-) My overall conclusion is that Media Streaming in Windows 7 at this time is NOT consumer ready. Too many hick-ups. The forums are filled with frustrated users.

    I found one scenario causing above behaviour - and I am pretty sure this is not how it should work according to specs - unless this has never been specified:

    1. Assume you were lucky enough to get "Play To" to work and both devices recognize each other (in my case 2 PCs running W7-64bit)
    2. pick songs from shared library as visible in media player and play them remotely on the sharing device (Play To)
    3. First song in list starts playing remotely - nice! End of the song it sarts to play again - not so nice...
    4. Checking the little Play To Window - Repeat is turned off, but still it repeats over and over again - suX...

    Could not get this fixed and checked the forums. No answers but lots of frustration and given-ups.

    This is where I posted previous note. Seriously - when I see what the experts are throwing against average users.... Anyway, I tried a couple of alternative scenarious and found a simple solution - at least for my 2 PC scenario.

    The remote controlled PC had repeat turned ON! Turned it off, started all over again and - it works!

    Not sure about hardware players as the ones you guys mentioned. You may want to validate repeat settings there, too.

    In my opinion this is a BUG in MEDIA PLAYER and needs to be adressed - Remote control (Play To) needs to overwrite current repeat settings!

    But honestly there is a lot more that needs fixing for simple setup. This whole beast has not been properly tested in my opinion. Go and do some homework, guys!
