"Play-to" network device keeps repeating same song

When I move a group of songs to the play area on the right-hand panel and select the "play-to" drop-down item, my DLNA compatible AV controller appears. When I select it, a new window opens, and the first song on the list begins playing on the AV device. Fine.

The problem is that song just keeps repeating. It doesn't matter whether the "repeat" control is turned on or off. I can click on any song in the list and it happily plays that song - over and over and over :-(

If I select a saved playlist from the DLNA client, it plays just fine and doesn't repeat. Unfortunately, I want to control the device from WMP, not from the panel of the DLNA client.

Help appreciated.

this is likely something that needs to be fixed by Denon. do they have a support

forum and are other users reporting the same issue?

    OK guys & gals,

after about 3 years, I finally solved this problem.

The solution is deceptively simple & represents an issue with Denon's firmware which Denon has never acknowledged.

    Source Link here.

I'm using a Denon AVR-3808 and this problem seems to affect a lot of AVR-xx08. I'm streaming music from WMP (any version) in Windows 7, 7 SP1, 8, 8.1 (doesn't matter if it's 32/64bit). I'm also streaming music from my Nokia Lumia 920 & 1020.

    Solution

Anyway. the solution is while the song is playing, change the "Repeat" (to ALL) and "Random" (to ALL or ON).

By the end of the song, the next song should play & the Repeat & Random settings should reset to "NO".

    HTH.

I don't know if this will be a help to anyone but I have the same problem with my Denon CEOL RCD-N8 using the "Play To" function in WMP.  As mentioned earlier in this thread the audio equipment had been set to play tracks from the server "Random". When I switched this function off on the CEOL, I could select a playlist in WMP and then "Play To" from there and the tracks will now play in sequence (I don't yet know if this will continue through a long playlist however).

    Cheers

Has there been any progress on this point?

I have two Win7 PCs (both 64 bit). I can use the "Play to" function to queue songs stored on one PC to the other PC, but after a song or two have been played, the last played song starts over.

No other devices are involved, so it has to be a Win7 problem. And I can play to a Philips NP2500 without problems.

So, come on guys, at least make a statement and tell us what's up.

    sorry for the delay.

back in April, you mentioned that your music was stored on a WHS box. Do you

have the same issue with tracks stored on a W7 box locally and streamed to the

    Denon?

there are all kinds of interpretations for the word "compatible" and even

"certified". A device could be certified as a DMP (digital media player) but not

a DMR, etc. I don't know why a device would be removed.

Have you tried asking Denon support why your device is no longer on the official

Microsoft list? A manufacturer escalating would have more impact than an end

user. In fact, the request for certification must come from the manufacturer.
